Summer Internship as a Clerk at Hälsingland District Court

For the summer of 2025, Hälsingland District Court is looking for two summer clerks for a temporary employment of 8 weeks. A position as a summer clerk is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in court work while still studying. During the employment, you will gain insight into the practical work at the district court. Hopefully, we will also spark your interest in future work within Sweden's courts.

Responsibilities

As a summer clerk, your tasks will largely correspond to those performed by newly employed clerks at the district court. You will see how practical court work is conducted and receive general training in legal analysis and methodology. You will participate in hearings, write draft judgments and decisions, conduct legal research, and prepare cases and matters. Other tasks that may occur at the district court may also be included in the position. The work is carried out independently under the supervision of the clerks.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who are studying law. To be considered, you must have completed courses in criminal law and procedural law by the time of employment, but you should not have completed your studies before the summer. You should have good grades from completed parts of your law education, strong proficiency in the Swedish language in both spoken and written forms. Other important qualities include attention to detail, analytical skills, good teamwork abilities, and the ability to organize and plan your work independently.

Other Information

Interviews are usually not conducted for this short position, and great importance will be placed on your personal letter and how you justify your interest in working as a summer clerk at our court. However, a phone interview may be considered. Selections will be made during April.

About Hälsingland District Court

The jurisdiction of Hälsingland District Court covers the six municipalities of Hälsingland with just over 130,000 inhabitants. The region is beautiful with miles of coastline offering great opportunities for recreation. The court has around 30 employees and receives approximately 3,000 cases and matters annually. The district court moved into new, purpose-built premises in central Hudiksvall in the spring of 2023. Hudiksvall municipality has fantastic beaches, with the nearest just 10 minutes from the city. There are also golf courses, football fields, and ice rinks in the municipality, as well as rail cycling and good fishing waters.
